Rachael & Michael – engagement preview

We did something really special for this engagement session – we shot digital, film and polaroid photographs. Due to the mixed media, it will take me a little longer to process all of Rachael and Michael’s engagement photos. While waiting for the film to return from the lab, I thought I would post a quick photo preview -

I don’t want to give away all my secret sauce, but I will say these photos were shot in downtown Cleveland, on Whiskey Island, and someplace very special in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Look for the image set shortly. And a million thanks to Rachael and Mike for making the engagement session such a great event. We had an absolute blast. Can’t wait for the wedding!

Sherita & Troy – engagement

It was a blazing hot day. I could have fried an egg on my camera. I think it was 98 degrees and nearly 90% humidity. I was the lucky one, too. I try to dress nice most often, but chose shorts and a t-shirt for this day. Sherita and Troy had to tough it out in jeans. I don’t know how they made it.

Nonetheless, their engagement photos turned out to be some of the best this year. And they were a joy to work with. Here are just a few of my favorites -

The day was spent mostly shooting around downtown Cleveland. We selected a few spots around the town and I think they all worked great. The engagement photos shot at Whiskey Island are still some of my favorites! I certainly can’t wait for their wedding in Aurora and Solon later this month.

P.S. – Troy was a willing participant and only had to be dragged occasionally ;-)

Kate & Brian – engagement

There are certain things that make me happy to be a Cleveland wedding photographer. The most notable is the scenery. Cleveland has a huge abundance of shooting locations. The Rocky River Reservation, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, downtown Cleveland, and any number of suburb locations are all great places to shoot.

We hit a few of these places for Kate and Brian’s engagement photo session, most notably, Rocky River Reservation, downtown Cleveland, and a small shopping area in Rocky River.

My favorite is definitely the kiss on top of the Detroit-Superior Bridge in downtown Cleveland. The tones in the photo are so interesting. The color is a little desaturated and the lighting is really even. Not sure why I like it, but I do.

Nicole & Rich – engagement

We just wrapped up an engagement photography session with Nicole and Rich. What great people! Rich is absolutely hysterical! Even better, there wedding reception will by Halloween themed. The engagement photos were shot in Rocky River reservation, Olmsted Falls, and Crocker Park mall in Westlake, Ohio.

Kate & Dick – engagement

The lighting could not have been more perfect. Just about everywhere we went, the light was not too strong and really creamy. This really allowed for some great, natural portraits. I even got a chance to bring out the big studio lights and push them against the sun.

Brooke was kind enough to assist, but I think I had to bribe her with dinner out. Of course, Kate and Dick were a pleasure to work with. But what you would expect from fans of vinyl.

The engagement photos were shot in Lakewood, Rocky River and Cleveland, Ohio.
