Bailee & Aaron - wedding

Bailee & Aaron – wedding

Out of the blue I received a call from Bailee. She was searching for a wedding photographer and their wedding was just around the corner. By some luck of Oden, I was free for their big wedding day. The luck was not hers, but mine. You see, they were getting married at my favorite venue of all time. Hit the jump to see the great location and some of my favorite photos.

Molly & Justin - wedding

Molly & Justin – wedding

I don’t know what I was thinking. I shot this wedding at the beginning of last year and never really posted any of the images. I have used a couple of the wedding photos in my portfolio, but never offered any details on the wedding day. Well, I magically found an hour or two, so I thought I would create a new wedding post.

Troy & Sherita - portraits at the Lakewood studio

Troy & Sherita – portraits at the Lakewood studio

Troy and Sherita stopped by the studio earlier today to drop off their wedding photography contract. They are getting married in October just south of Cleveland. Little did they know I had little surprise planned. The photo studio was all setup to grab a couple quick portraits of each of them. I didn’t know how they would be dressed or what kind of mood they would be in after a day of wedding planning. Needless to say, the portraits could not have gone better. They were in a fantastic mood and I was ready to roll. Here are the results.

Summer Sizzlin'

Summer Sizzlin’

As I shoot more weddings and portraits, I am carrying my camera with me more often. And my friends are getting used to me with a camera. They have learned to just accept it and largely ignore me when I have the camera in my hand.

Brooke in the Valley

Brooke in the Valley

In the heart of the summer, I found a great new shooting location. Brooke and I headed down to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park to do some personal portraits. While I focus on wedding photography, I still do a lot of personal portraiture.
These were shot on a valley wall between two highways that cross the [...]

Cuba’s sugar train

I had no clue who Landon Nordeman was. However, I found his stunning work via Rachel Hulin, of “A Photography Blog” (God, I love Rachel). At any rate, check out the video below. Create historical information and even more amazing portraiture.

Kate & Brian - engagement

Kate & Brian – engagement

There are certain things that make me happy to be a Cleveland wedding photographer. The most notable is the scenery. Cleveland has a huge abundance of shooting locations. The Rocky River Reservation, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, downtown Cleveland, and any number of suburb locations are all great places to shoot.

Maternity portraits - Jessica & Jevon

Maternity portraits – Jessica & Jevon

I met Jessica and Jevon through work completely separate from my wedding photography. At the time, they were not even dating. Before you knew it, they went from dating, to married to expecting.

At that point, they both wanted to capture some great photos of their little family before it grew one person larger. Since then, I am happy to report they have a healthy baby girl.

Kate & Dick - engagement

Kate & Dick – engagement

The lighting could not have been more perfect. Just about everywhere we went, the light was not too strong and really creamy. This really allowed for some great, natural portraits. I even got a chance to bring out the big studio lights and push them against the sun.

Brooke was kind enough to assist, but I think I had to bribe her with dinner out. Of course, Kate and Dick were a pleasure to work with. But what you would expect from fans of vinyl.

The Nick and The Nance - wedding

The Nick and The Nance – wedding

When you are as great as Nick and Nancy, you get to use “The” with a capital “T” before your name.
Nick and Nancy are actually close friends of Brooke and I. They used to live downstairs and were kind enough to ask me to photograph their engagement session and wedding. We shot the engagement in [...]
